Many Latin American and Caribbean countries are gearing up for elections in 2018 that could reconfigure the political landscape of the region. Join the McCourt Latin American Student Association (LAPA), GU Politics and the Center for Latin American Studies (CLAS) on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at 6:30pm in Old North 205 for a panel discussion on the various factors at stake in these elections. This event will provide an opportunity for students to engage with Latin American elections experts to discuss the potential consequences of increased popularity in conservative movements, corruption scandals, and impending humanitarian crisises throughout the region.

- Brenda Santamaría, Director of the Department of Electoral Cooperation and Observation at the Organization of American States
- John Polga, Professor at the U.S. Naval Academy
- Jim Swigert, Director of National Democratic Institute's Latin America and Caribbean Programs
