An LPI Event: "America First, LGBTQ People Alone"

The Trump Administration has significantly altered the landscape of domestic and international politics. With each passing day, the Administration takes action that outwardly contradicts the lived experiences of the LGBTQ community at home. For example, the Administration's decision to halt data collection of LGBTQ people in federally administered surveys. But what many individuals may not recognize, though, is the way in which other issues such as the preservation of DACA or the direction of USAID relate to LGBTQ people.

Join the McCourt LGBTQ Policy Initiative, the Women in Public Policy Initiative, and the Latin American Policy Association at a panel discussion discussing the effects of the Trump Administration's "America First" politics on the LGBTQ community at home and abroad. Our guests include the Center for American Progress' Sharita Gruberg, Associate Director of the LGBT Research and Communications Project and Frank Bewkes, Policy Analyst for the LGBT Research and Communications Project; as well as Human Rights Specialist and Georgetown Law School Professor, Fanny Gomez-Lugo.
