LPI Allies and Supports GAGE, Georgetown Student Worker Union
On February 8th, LPI’s Director of Research and Publication, Charlie Whittington, met with leadership from the Georgetown Graduate Student and Student Worker Union, GAGE.
All social issues, whether LGBTQ, racial, gender, or class, require intersectional frameworks and solidarity across groups.
LPI is excited to announce that it is supporting and advocating for GAGE’s efforts to unionize student workers at Georgetown University.
Worker’s rights are also LGBTQ rights. LGBTQ people may face additional barriers in the United States — especially considering that in many states and regions, one may be terminated or not hired for their sexual or gender identity.
LPI encourages other organizations to stand with GAGE in community action to fight for the rights of labor.
